What is WikiBot you ask?

WikiBot is a 'robot' (sometimes referred to as a 'crawler' or a 'spider') that crawls the Web. WikiBot only crawls websites related to Weddings, so if you've seen User Agent: WikiBot 1.0 in your Website log, well, you got it, that's our bot.

Why did WikiBot come to my site?

WikiBot will come to your site if your URL is added using our 'Suggest A Site' by you or someone who thought WikiBot should index your site for addition to the WikiBot Directory at WedWiki.com --- Or WikiBot ran into a link to you site while indexing another site. WikiBot does crawl links from one site to the next, weeding out sites that aren't wedding related.

My domain will rank high on any search engine because it's optimized like this:

No. Keyword stuffed domains get less weight in results than 'normal' domains.

Our search rank is a bit different. We don't give massive 'weight' in the search rank to the domain name or the .com/keyword.htm.

Can WikiBot index dynamic sites, like PHP, etc.?

WikiBot can. In fact WikiBot also indexes .doc files, .pdf files, .swf files & more. WikiBot doesn't 'grab' all your images. WikiBot indexes quick. A site with 5,000 Web pages can be indexed and finished in about 3 to 5 minutes, using minimal bandwidth. What a little lightning bolt the bot is!

Whose else will provide search results in WikiBot's Wedding Search Engine?

No other search engine's results are included so if you don't add your URL you're not included, unless WikiBot finds you on another wedding Website without a nofollow attribute in your link.

Google Pagerank doesn't matter either, we rank sites in a whole different way. You may be a PR6 site on Google, but that doesn't mean anything here.

If I add my URL right now will WikiBot come right now?

WikiBot likes chocolate cake, so if you have one of those enter it in your description, and you'll see the UserAgent right away. Otherwise, probably not. WikiBot will drop by when it gets to your URL in the index, after it's reviewed by a real person first for spam and related content. If your site is wedding related, and you follow our submission guidelines laid out on this page, you'll get indexed quickly, most likely in a matter of days.
